Green Oak QP1 graded now available at PTP

Green oak is an ideal material for timber frame construction, fire place beams and surroundings. 

The term green oak means it is unseasoned and is still relatively moist. This makes it easier to cut into complex shapes. As the Oak starts to dry it slightly shrinks, mostly across the width of the grain, tightening the joints and hardening to improve the overall strength of the oak.

We have a variety of sizes available in stock 3’ x 3’, 4’ x 4’, 6’ x 6’, 8’ x 8’ and 12’ x 12’ in lengths of 2.5m up to 7m However we do have the flexibility to cut sizes at our own sawmill.
